Host FAQ

The accommodation should provide a generously-sized room with essential features, including a window, blinds, a comfortable bed, a functional desk, a desk lamp, and a spacious wardrobe. Additionally, the student's room must be free from any personal items belonging to the host.

Students can choose from a range of catering options, including Bed and Breakfast, Half-Board, Full-Board, or Self-Catering. Furthermore, when possible, students have access to the kitchen, allowing them to prepare their own meals or warm up food as needed.

Moreover, when students choose Self-Catering, they must have access to the kitchen, allowing them to prepare their own meals or warm up food as needed. If they choose Bed & Breakfast, Half or Full-Board, you will have to provide them with meals. In this case, kitchen usage is optional and will depend on your preferences. You can choose which options you are happy to offer.

All host accommodations must meet local safety requirements, including valid gas, electrical, and fire safety certificates where applicable. In addition, all hosts are required to complete a police background check (such as a DBS check in the UK), which we can assist you in obtaining.

Students may use the household laundry facilities free of charge. Hosts should ensure that the laundry facilities are accessible and that the home, including the student’s bedroom and common areas, is kept clean and comfortable. Fresh sheets, towels, and pillows should be provided regularly.

To enhance the students' language skills and cultural experience, you're encouraged to engage and socialize with them.

Student will have a house key and the option to lock their bedroom door, ensuring their privacy.

In the event of a student's cancellation with less than 7 days' notice, we will cover the cost for the entire week if a replacement student cannot be found.

Students are required to check in no later than 11:00 pm. If arrival is between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, host will receive a late-night check-in.

Student arrivals and departures are generally scheduled for Saturdays or Sundays.

Once you agree to host a student, our EP accommodation team will facilitate the exchange of details between the host and the student, allowing for communication and preparation before the student's arrival.
