EFL Teacher
English Path is seeking an engaging and professional EFL Teacher to join our academic team in Birmingham. This role plays a key part in delivering high‑quality English language education and supporting students to achieve meaningful progress through enjoyable, effective, and well‑structured lessons.
As an EFL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering English language classes across a range of courses and levels, ensuring strong learner outcomes and a positive classroom experience. Courses may include General English, ESOL, IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation, Business English, and EAP/ESP, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to teaching, the role contributes to assessment, academic administration, and wider centre activities, supporting English Path’s commitment to excellence in education and student experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess English language lessons aligned with course objectives and learner needs

EFL Teacher
As an EFL Teacher, you are responsible for engaging students in the learning processes to ensure learner outcomes are maximised and the students have interesting, enjoyable lessons. English courses may include (but are not limited to) General English, ESOL, IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation, Business, Finance and EAP/ESP. EFL teachers may be asked to teach on any one of our courses depending on experience and qualifications. You may also be responsible for occasionally helping develop materials and documents, testing students and planning and/or leading social programme activities and CPD sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, appropriate to the course and to the type of students, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
- Keeping an accurate record of student attendance and other administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.
- Develop, update, and improve course materials as appropriate.
- Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials including live online learning.
- Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including classroom technology and live online learning.
- Attend meetings as required, to contribute to the decision-making process and to develop productive working relationships within the various teams you will be engaged with.
- Teachers are expected to be on-site no later than 15 minutes before the start of their first lesson.
- Teachers will have regular meetings with a Director of Studies to set objectives and measure progress towards those objectives.
- A full induction will be provided to all new teachers, and regular training will be offered.
- All teachers are expected to attend monthly CPD sessions, and DELTA qualified teachers will be asked to run development or training sessions as required.
- Take on other responsibilities as required to support the work of English Path.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum CELTA or Cert TESOL qualification (Essential).
- DELTA, Trinity Dip TESOL or Equivalent at master’s level (Desirable).
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any subject (Essential).
- Demonstratable experience for similar courses.
- Structured and creative approach to lesson planning.
- A desire to continue to develop professionally and help support and develop less experienced teachers.
- Experience providing support and feedback.
- Experience with distance learning and supporting learners both online and face-to-face.
- Ability to work with classroom technology with ease and creativity.
- Professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail and accurate reporting
- Ability to maintain thorough and organised student records.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.

SAFEGUARDING AND WELFARE RESPONSIBILTIES
- Responsible for promoting safeguarding within their venue and working with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment is achieved.
- Help provide emotional and pastoral care for all students and promote their mental and physical wellbeing at all times.
- Effectively manage classroom management and student behaviour (with the support of the academic management team).
- Make yourself aware of EPs safeguarding policy, attendance policy, safer recruitment policy and any other policies relating to welfare and safeguarding of students to ensure a clear and correct process is always followed to ensure children are safe and protected.

Director of Studies
Join EP as our Director of Studies and take the lead in shaping an inspiring, student-centred academic experience.
About the Role: As the Director of Studies you are responsible for all aspects of academic provision at EP location. This includes but is not limited to; ELT course design and implementation; providing continued academic support and guidance to EP students and day-to-day management of EP EFL Teachers. You will also assist with recruitment of EFL teachers, conducting interviews and shortlisting candidates as required. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee safeguarding, child protection, and student welfare practices, ensuring compliance with policies, legislation, and best practice while acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Manage academic operations including testing, timetabling, teacher allocations, attendance monitoring, reporting, compliance, and smooth day-to-day centre delivery.
- Support and develop teaching staff through performance management, CPD planning, classroom support, recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining high academic standards.
- Coordinate student experience and pastoral care by supporting inductions, accommodation liaison, exam coordination, progression pathways, and responding to student enquiries.
- Drive academic quality and resource development through syllabus design, materials creation, EAP programme management, library oversight, and continuous course innovation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Eligibility to live and work in Ireland.
- NFQ Level 7 qualification DELTA, DipTESOL or equivalent.
- Undergraduate degree in any discipline.
- Undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure check or overseas equivalent.
- Outstanding communication and English language skills, both verbal and written.
- Previous exposure to a HR/Recruitment environment desirable.
- Previous experience of material design for ELT courses.
- Experience of teaching ESOL, Exam preparation courses.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
