Frequently asked questions

What is the work experience and internship programme?

The Work Experience and Internship Programme is a course from English Path that combines English lessons with a real, full-time work placement in Europe. It is available in Malta, Dublin, Paris, and Berlin. The programme is designed for three main groups: graduates who want to strengthen their CV, university students who need a work placement to complete their course, and Erasmus participants completing a work-based mobility.

EU Passport Holders.

Placements are currently available in four European cities: Malta, Dublin, Paris, and Berlin. Each city offers different industries, minimum placement lengths, and notice periods, so it is worth comparing them before you apply.

Yes, there is a placement fee for the programme. The fee becomes non-refundable once we have reviewed your CV, placement test, and any interview, and you have been accepted onto the programme. We recommend confirming the current fee for your chosen city before you apply.

Yes. Erasmus Applicants can apply for the programme in any of our European destinations (Malta, Dublin, Paris or Berlin).  OID codes can be found online on the official Erasmus website:  Search for an organisation | Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes

An OID (Organisation ID) is a unique code given to organisations, institutions, or informal groups that take part in decentralised Erasmus+ projects managed by national agencies. It helps the European Commission and national agencies track and manage applications, and it automatically fills in an organisation's details, such as its name, address, and contact information, on Erasmus+ project forms.

The minimum age is 18 in all destinations. In Malta, we can also accept students aged 16 and over when they travel as part of a group.

Most work experience placements require a B2 level of English or above. A B2 level means you can communicate confidently in everyday professional situations, which employers expect in a real workplace.

Placement length depends on the city. Malta placements run for a minimum of 2 weeks and Dublin for a minimum of 3 weeks. Paris placements last up to a maximum of 12 weeks. In Berlin, the length depends on the notice you give and current placement availability, so please contact us for up-to-date timings.

All placements on this programme are full-time and unpaid work experience roles. Part-time placements are not available at the moment. Although the roles are unpaid, they give you real workplace experience, stronger English skills, and valuable transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

To apply, contact our team by email at work.experience@englishpath.com to start your application for any destination. Notice periods are usually 2 months, rising to 3 months for summer placements, so we strongly recommend applying early to secure your preferred city and dates.
